Yarn packs for the Centifolia Hat using full 25g balls of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift fingering weight Shetland wool yarn in the nine colors shown are available here.
Ladies’ Fair Isle technique hat with corrugated ribbing and stranded stockinette stitch. Hat’s finished circumference = 21” / 53cm, sized to fit the average adult female head, when knit to gauge. Suitable for intermediate knitters familiar with Fair Isle knitting and working from charts.
GAUGE: 32 sts and 36 rows = 4” / 10cm in stranded stockinette stitch with larger needles.
NEEDLES: If you knit loosely, try US size 1½ / 2.5mm for the trim and US size 2 / 2.75mm for the main sections. If you knit tightly, try US size 2 / 2.75mm for the trim and US size 2½ / 3.0mm for the main section.
YARN: Nine different colors of Jamieson’s of Shetland “Spindrift” 100% Shetland wool yarn were used in the sample. The yarn pack comes with full 25g balls of each of the nine colors. If you’d like to try knitting your Centifolia Hat from your stash, here are the approximate* weights used for each color (not including yarn used for swatching):
